Gender(性别)
Masculine(男生)
Is used when the noun refers to males(persons and animals): boy, king , ram, etc.
Feminine(女生)
Is used when the noun refers the females(persons and animals): girls, queen, ewe, etc
Common(共同)
refers to noun that are of either sex, masculine or feminine.
Example:
child, pupil, teacher, parent, bird, etc.
Neuter(中性)
refers to noun that not alive and cannot be named as male or female.
Example:
table, chair, book, lamp, etc.
